About Support

At Connecting Staff, we understand that living with a psychosocial disability can make it challenging to participate fully in everyday life. Our in-house psychosocial support sessions provide a safe, supportive space for participants to build life skills, work on personal goals, and increase confidence – without the need for clinical therapy. Delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Youth Worker, these sessions are designed to complement existing mental health supports, focusing on practical, recovery-oriented strategies that help participants achieve greater independence and social connection.

How We Support You

Our sessions are goal-focused, strengths-based, and person-centred, supporting participants to:

Build Daily Living Skills
Organisation, time management, routines, decision-making, and problem-solving.

Increase Social Confidence
Communication skills, friendship building, and safe community interactions.

Work Towards NDIS Goals
Education, training, employment preparation, and community inclusion.

Explore Recovery Pathways
Connecting with mental health services, peer supports, and other resources.

Develop Coping Strategies
Practical, everyday tools for managing stress and emotions (non-clinical).

Enhance Self-Advocacy Skills
Preparing for meetings, writing requests, and speaking up for personal needs.

What We Don't Provide

We are not a clinical or counselling service.
Our sessions do not include:

  • Psychological therapy, trauma counselling, or diagnosis

  • Medication management or clinical advice

  • Behaviour support involving restrictive practices

If a participant requires these supports, we can help them link to appropriate qualified profession

This service has been developed in line with NDIS practice standards and within the professional scope of a Bachelor-qualified Youth Worker, ensuring participants receive safe, goal-driven, non-clinical psychosocial support.
